Secondary Glazing for Security
Our standard range of Secondary Glazing provides very good Additional Security.

Secondary Glazing specifically for improved Security is a rapidly increasing part of our business, particularly in highly populated city and urban areas and in older more traditional properties.

The Risks
Generally, burglars choose the softest “target” they can find.

That means a discreet point of entry that is not easily overlooked and a window or door that appears reasonably simple to break into.
Any single glazed or older windows; basement windows, all sash windows, rear windows and doors, French Doors and bathroom windows; are all particularly vulnerable.

Additionally, all ground floor windows & those above that are close to flat roofs and drainpipes offer further opportunities to the potential burglar.

The Solution
The beauty of a Secondary Window is that it is extremely difficult to open from the outside.

Fitted with additional security locks, “extremely difficult” becomes “virtually impossible!”

Of course, with time & determination, a burglar can get into virtually any window or door - but the main purpose of additional security is to make your windows and doors a less attractive proposition.

The secondary purpose of additional security is to provide a further barrier to unauthorized entry – by way of its’ strength and the additional time, trouble & noise required to force an entry.

Secondary Double Glazing does that very effectively – and as well as additional security locks, Toughened or clear Laminated Safety Glass can be used to further frustrate a forced entry.

Other Considerations

Secondary Glazing is Ugly & Obtrusive
Not True. Our Systems have been designed to be effective, stylish & discreet - they are nothing like the sort of thing that you may have seen elsewhere or in years past.

Additionally, we put as much emphasis on achieving an Unobtrusive Installation as we do on achieving Optimum Security.

Suitability
Our extensive range of Secondary Glazing is suitable for installation to virtually any type of primary window or door in both Residential & Commercial properties.

We have fitted it in flats, houses, offices, Listed & Period properties, hotels, churches, public sector buildings, etc.

  • Avoids security grilles that are unsightly & block Fire Escape routes
